Teaching Philosophy

I integrate the Five Cs—Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities—into my classes and research within a flipped classroom model to foster a rounded educational environment that embraces diversity, equity and inclusivity. This approach empowers students to take ownership of their education; they engage with course materials at home and then deepen their comprehension through interactive discussions and collaboration to solve problems in the classroom.

My focus is to improve students' communication skills and cultural awareness to promote global understanding and adaptability. By connecting learned concepts to real-world contexts and promoting cross-cultural comparisons, I help students sharpen their analytical skills.

I extend education beyond the classroom through community involvement, enabling students to make positive contributions to their communities and heighten their sense of global responsibility. Committed to prepare students for future careers and life in an increasingly interconnected world, my goal is to cultivate socially and culturally competent individuals who can thrive in diverse settings.
